So to continue my complaint from a few pages ago, where I needed to go get paperwork from my doctor to prove that I was even sick enough to need accommodations or anything similar...

Doctor tells me, "I can do that but you'll need to get some FMLA paperwork from them. It'll cover that and allow you to take time off when you need to." This is because I will need to have consultations and various surgical procedures done in the near future to figure out what's wrong/fix it/get me on track to keeping it under control. Get the papers, bring it to the doctor's office, doctor faxes it to the work place and everything is peachy, apparently.

Work tells me, "no your doctor is wrong, you need to get the paperwork to prove you're even sick before we'll even consider giving you some forms to fill out to ask for time off (and accommodations related) to deal with an illness that you've got a history of a month of ER and doctor visits and the paperwork to prove you were there for that reason on file."

Oh also I have to have said proof by Monday but they specifically told me this on Friday right before the doctor's office closed and they also expected me to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday without the necessary accommodations because I didn't have proof I needed them despite me literally asking for the forms that would cover all of that. Twice.

Get pissed. Walk out after 3 hours of working and abdominal pains beginning to act up again. Do some research, turns out the company I was working for has tons of lawsuits related to FMLA violations and if the people who filed them didn't quit before doing so they were immediately fired for, "unrelated," issues.

It's cool, though. I've got two jobs lined up that won't require the specific things that trigger my condition.
Do you have AIDS?

Dunno. But whatever it is causes me to consistently lose weight whenever it flares up. I used to be 170 and now I'm at 135. Lowest was 120. My BMI is almost low enough that I could file for disability.

May want to consider a lolsuit yourself, however if you walked out like that then it probably wouldn't happen.

Whether I stayed or not the most I'd get is a reinstatement and maybe some financial comp from the time they fired me until the completion of the suit.

I can still file a complaint (which I plan on doing) just for the sake of it but it's better to just find a new job, no matter which course I took.

That seems serious. I thought you had a back injury or something. That sounds like SuperAIDS.

It's not so serious to label it SuperAIDS and it's not serious enough to be cancer. It's serious enough that it affects my quality of life and ability to function within normal society.

It makes it especially funny having my job refuse me FMLA paperwork when they have proof of what I'm dealing with along with, "wow you've been gone a week and you look like you lost 10 pounds!"
"Well, I did lose 5 this week."
"Where are you possibly losing it from? There's nothing to lose!"
"Yeah I know. Anyway, here's info from my doctor..."

So you're dying or what? Losing weight that drastically with heavy pains doesn't exactly like some minor shit that will blow over.

Not dying. Just need the proper medication to keep the pain under control and the rest will fall into place. It's a process, though, because blood tests and such are coming back negative so they need to do a GI scope and a biopsy and then they'll know for sure what the problem is.

This isn't a Total Biscuit thing where I have cancer but I didn't go get it checked out in time and now I'm going to die from it.

But you don't know what it actually is?
