You don't need a loicense to operate a forklift in Germany? Heh, here you need a loicense for EVERY WORKSITE SEPARATELY. It doesn't matter even if you have a 30 year experience operating a forklift, it's illegal to touch one if you don't have a permit to operate that in that specific worksite. For example, a truck driver arriving to his destination to unload his lorry, if he sees a forklift there he can't use it if he doesn't have a permit to use it on that area, so he has to wait till someone who has the permit arrives to unload the lorry. This is fucking stupid and often leads to unnecessary delays in logistic process, but this is typical social democracy patronising. Everything would go a full Staplerfahrer Klaus otherwise, apparently.

Forklifts are dangerous weapons that need to be handled with care. Only true experts in the field of forklifting can be trusted.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Not exactly, no. The "license" for it is a one hour course. Hilariously, watching Staplerfahrer Klaus is part of that course at many places. Once you have one, you may operate one everywhere.
The only question is always what the insurance says. Some, especially at big companies, won't permit anyone but employees to operate one on their premises or they won't pay in case shit happens.
If you're going to drive to lots of unloading stations where a forklift is necessary and it's questionable if one will be around, it's always smarter to have one of those attachable ones at the back of the truck. Those things are pretty awesome.
