Honestly I hate July 4th. Not because of people celebrating FREEDOM AND THE AMERICAN WAY or anything but because for the entire week leading up to the 4th and the week after it, but particularly the day of, the pops and booms stress my animals out.
As my dog gets older she has a harder time dealing with it and has accidents all over the house and my wife's cat got so stressed that he groomed so bad that he got constipated with hair in his digestive tract and then... well, let's just say we had to mop the floor everywhere this morning because it finally loosened up.
The limp wristed police, in my city, put up fliers asking people to please only shoot fireworks for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and to stop by 1am. They don't enforce it. Nobody cares.

Ohio supposedly has a waiver you sign when you buy them saying you're going to take them out of state to shoot them off, but it's nothing but a front. What's even worse is I'm in the country so I have all the hillbillies shooting them off all around me, thankfully my animals don't get stressed anymore about it.
