I'm ambivalent about the size of government. It only makes sense to me that a larger geographic area requires a larger government to manage everything. I don't particularly care about culture either so long as some faggot doesn't shove my nose in it and make me tell them how fucking amazing their stupid culture is. "Freedom" is a buzzword both parties love to abuse. Right-wingers are closer to accurate when they say it, but even they don't have much interest in preserving my freedom to not worship jebus.

You overlooked the spending aspect too, which is huge. It's not just about the size of government, but how much it spends and where it prioritizes spending. I don't like the idea of a country perpetually increasing its debt-to-GDP ratio forever, which is what liberals want. But I don't want us to spend billions or trillions on shitty F-35 airplanes either, which is what the GOP want. The GOP want to slash budgets on safety nets while still spending tons on the military. Dems want to just spend tons on fucking everything + start new wars for no raisin cuz Putin a shit.

I think you do care about culture. The culture based on Western liberalism and the philosophy of education is far ahead from cultures based on Hinduism or Buddhism, and approx. 1000 years ahead of cultures based on Islam. In India there are no queue culture, everyone just rushes in and pushes others around them to get what they want. In China people are generally really indifferent about animal rights, you see animal torture (at least when compared to Western standards) basically everywhere. Countries with Islamic cultures, I really don't even need to give any examples here.

Freedom is an ambiguous term, yes, I meant freedom to live your life and practise your business as free as possible.

When it comes to spendings, the policy the GOP practises isn't always of course 100% right-wingism, nor do the Dems always represent leftism (in fact, in my country Dems would be classified as right-wing party, compared to our parties - how they are placed on the Nolan Chart). I can't comment such spesific subject, was spending on F-35s reasonable or not, I barely know anything about the matter, but the essential aspect is that the budget was allocated to the army. Was it reasonable to purchase specifically these planes? That I can't say, probably not.

F-35s suck dick (they are not nearly as good as they were billed to be) and there's no real point to building up US military might just to go stomp goatfuckers in bumfuck nowhereistan. USA military spending is out of control.

The really dangerous military powers out there are already nearly or as powerful as us when it comes to conventional weapons, and you're dreaming if you think China or Russia could invade the USA without us firing off nukes. Faced with total invasion of a country as big as the USA, you bet we'd fucking push the button. Reptile brain has no shame and will do what it can to stay alive. So no one giant world power can ever overtly invade the other, since the other would launch nukes.

If we cared about having the strongest military anyway, we'd just buy our airplanes from whoever makes the best ones right now. So Su-27s or eurofighters or some shit. Or just keep using the F-15 and F-22.

I care about not having a culture imposed upon me but I don't care if you want to practice your shitty culture in your own little corner of life, so long as you're not hurting anyone.

The GOP as we have it today isn't really small-government btw. They just want to spend all that sweet sweet debt money on completely different stuff than the Dems do. Dems want muh reparations and muh gibs, but GOP want muh F-35s (look up how much those cost btw to know why I keep bringing them up) and muh giant corporations paying no taxes. Both parties agree the middle class should be fucked enthusiastically.
