Walmart famously wants to raise the minimum wage federally to fuck over their competition since they can absorb the losses until the competition go under. Any rich person saying they want higher taxes and wages is lying to you, they always want the government to do it when they themselves can do it whenever they want. They can ditch their accountant, not write anything off and pay their "fair share" and they can pay their employees more money on their own but they won't. They can give the government more money voluntarily to pay for shit but they won't do that either.

Most of these companies would move their headquarters to where ever offers the least tax and run "losses" in every other country through clever accounting to pay no tax.
Most of them don't pay taxes anyway. I think it was either Amazon or Starbucks but one of them got into big trouble here because they said they were going to 'start' paying their taxes, as if they could just choose whether or not to pay them
When you are a job creator, you basically set the rules. For everything. Including tax. Look at how many big corporations basically have free run over towns, even in America. Because if you tell them no, they'll say, "WELP, guess we'll just pull up stakes and move all our jobs somewhere else! What a shame! We'd hate for our current employees to end up out of work, but there's nothing we can do! *crocodile tear slides down cheek*"
Corporations wield far more power than even politicians imo. All the political fags can do is cajole, threaten, bargain or bribe. Corporations can do all that shit + randomly choose to fuck thousands of people over just to show they can.
You expect them to pay tax? Hah. If you remove their loopholes, they'll just move production wherever the loopholes still exist. The current bitchmade politicans will never really get tough enough on the big megacorps to make them buckle. At the end of the day, those companies do need their access to first-world consumers. And they know it. But no politician is willing to threaten to cut off that supply. Imagine Trump or Bernie (LOL) telling Coca-Cola that they won't be allowed to sell their products in America AT ALL if they don't pay x amount to their employees and employ x amount of US workers. Fuck no. Coke knows damn well they get the best prices for their shit in the first world, but they also know politicians are too bitchmade to challenge corporations openly. It's a good way to present yourself as an easy target for the other politicians (including democucks) to dogpile and rip you apart.
Of course do they wield more power. They're like the only ones for which globalization is 100% beneficial. National governments can't handle these international players.
