Bottom line: the "Siege on the Capitol" accomplished nothing (what was it supposed to accomplish anyway?) and only created a problem that the Right will have to deal with for years.

I read a great point that said that while these people no doubt felt empowered by recent Left demonstrations, they were imitating the losers.

The Brett Kavanaugh protesters who got into the Capitol? They lost. Kavanugh made it.

Even BLM are losers so far because not only has "Defund the police" not caught on in most cities, but even Saint Obama said that it was a bad idea.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. That's all I could think of when I read it, and that was before it was revealed he was doing exactly what Nixon was doing at Watergate and got away with it without even needing a pardon.

I first made the connection back during the early days of Obama's presidency. The Beast is fairly obviously indicative of characters like Trump who thrive off negative feedback and controversy. One point I'm not surprised many liberals in current year have avoided pointing out is that, in Transmetropolitan, The Beast is a lesser evil to The Smiler. The Beast is the evil you know. His evil is contained within proscribed limits. His bad actions are in service to animal needs. The Smiler, by contrast, is the kind of warped sick fuck with no limits. The sort who tortures animals for fun and dreams of a world where they can do anything for its own sake. The Smiler isn't driven by animal urges and can't be satisfied by conventional rewards like money, status or sex. They are a broken mind. They will never be satisfied until the whole world is under their thumb. Harming others is their only form of enjoyment.

Much like a charismatic narcissist, The Smiler type of politician seems initially pleasant and kind because he has no personality whatsoever. He is a mirror reflecting focus-tested viewpoints and think tank-proven mannerisms. He Does Not Exist.
