This is it in short terms. Overall Section 230 protections were done to prevent you from being sued for liability for posts or messages on your site by making it a platform and not publisher. I think the exception is in things like posting of child porn and if you delete that when caught in good faith then you are good.

The problem with Big Tech overall is that they want both options at the same time. Being a publisher and platform. No responsibility for things said on their site and censoring what they don't like. They want their cake and eat it too.

Trump is saying that shit doesn't fly. If you don't want to be liable by being a platform, allow pretty much everything on the site or be a publisher and you can be held liable for what is posted there.

Big Tech will fight this in court because they want both.

He's being paranoid since this order specifically mentions large tech sites like Twitter and Facebook and not small sites like his but he has been so socially isolated from people that he has become paranoid as fuck.
