The PRC doesn't treat the third world like that. They prefer to use them as a tool by luring them into debt traps to the point where those banana republics have no other choice than to obey them.

Because their military is pathetic and weak. A war in Afghanistan would break China, same as it broke the Soviet Union. Better to let the American schmucks do their dirty work for them.

China bought most of Afghanistan for copper mining rights.
They've bought a lot of African mining rights as well. It's not working out great (see Empire of Dust).

They just don't quite have the right colonizer spirit yet.
What they need down there on the continent of color is more Chinese supervisors and security personell, alongside with camps where the "workers" can get properly "motivated".

You think that China would be able to do what no other nation has managed to do, successfully invade and conquer Afghanistan? More to the point, you think they want to try, seeing as how it's gone for everybody else that tried it?
The people who tried before where actual humans with a soul. Plus who as of Current Year has the most success at keeping people of peace in check?

Irrelevant. Afghanistan is a mountainous country full of caves. To argue that the Chinese will somehow succeed where the British, the Russians, the Americans and god knows who else have failed because they are more ruthless is to gravely misunderstand why they failed in the first place. You can't brutalise a people if you can't get your hands on them in the first place

Logistics always trump ideology. But "fighting terror" is impossible on a purely idealistic front anyway, because anyone can become a terrorist in seconds, just by picking up a pointy object or getting behind a wheel with murderous intent. You can never win the war on terror for this reason. "Winning the war on terror" is like "winning the war on homicide."

And President Pence will just add four more.
I don’t see the point - when it comes to defending corporations and the wealthy, all nine SCOTUS justices tend to vote the same way.
