I wish I had never done research on the topic, but apparently a big contributor to the Blackthoven conspiracy was a single ad for some Burger radio station that featured an image of a blackwashed Beethoven - which someone ended up as holy "proof" that he was black all along.
It's like proving that Cleopatra was black by using a screenshot from that Netflix "documentary".
