I had a look at the New York Times and they're already twisting themselves in knots saying the Dem victory looks more significant than it appears and it really was a Blue Wave. I don't think the Dems even have the numbers to guarantee their precious impeachment.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 8:07 pmOh well, typical polidick talk about how our side totally came out on top this time around.

Surprisingly, the German media (outside of the real heavily ideological ones) are very reasonable about it. No real winner and really no surprise. One stated that it's pretty much just a return to normalcy because it's very rare for one side to hold down everything.
We'll see how shit plays out. In any case, the loonies are still going to be busy with each other and won't annoy the general public and the outside world.

That's something the left doesn't seem to have figured out since Trump won. The country trends centrist and cycles back and forth. It's very normal for 1 party to control the house and the other the senate. It's business as usual for a democrat candidate to run for 2 terms and then turn it over to a republican for 2 terms. That's just how shit fucking goes in this country.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 10:25 pmSurprisingly, the German media (outside of the real heavily ideological ones) are very reasonable about it. These retards are throwing a shitfit pretty much because they're young brainwashed SJW cunts who think SJW-topia is how the country is supposed to be, where only liberals ever have power and everything always goes their way. That and Trump being a bit of a wild card candidate compared to the normal shill republican president like Bush Jr who starts a bunch of wars. Or a normal shill democrat candidate like Hillary who would have started a bunch of wars.
The outcome of the midterms is pretty much nothing special in any way. It wasn't a landslide sweep like SJWs wanted, which speaks to the notion that Trump may very well get re-elected.

Forgot to mention that one commenter was completely tone deaf. He was basically giving this whole spiel about the reps losing their voting base over the next generation because shitlibs lib shit harder and harder in places like Commiefornia, thinking that it's the city trend that's going to get passed on to the rest of the nation.
The twat seems to forget or not noticed that some of the most vehemently opposed to SocJus doctrine are the generation after us.
Riddle me this: Since when has a generation completely copied their parents in political attitude? I've never seen it happen. The current far left shit is going to spawn loads of teenagers that do what teenagers do, reject shit they've been told.

And it's a lot easier to reject your parents when they're screaming and acting like toddlers.

Children are well known to listen to their teachers.

They'll rebel by being either swinging to the right, or going even farther hardcore left than ever before.
Or just....do nothing. (Seen that one happen with a kid of leftists. There was literally nothing for him to rebel against since his parents said they would tolerate practically anything. So he mainly stayed in their room like a shut in and just disappeared from the house at night. The parents only checked to make sure he was safe and not OD'd on drugs.)
I hope at some point this generation of socialists gets enough guts to finally push Pelosi and the other boomers out of the way. I'd rather have this new batch of crazy than the same old globalist fossils.

I think that you can try to mold the next generation, but you never really get what you want. Too many unpredictible things happen.
One of the dumbest things I've ever seen was after Trump was elected and some Leftist sources reported that the majority of under-25 voters went for Clinton. Just counting the under-25s, the whole map was solid blue.
Hope for a blue future, they declared!
Meanwhile, any reasonable person looking at this just rolled their eyes.
OF COURSE, the under-25s voted Democrat. Pretty much everyone that age is a hyper-conformist. They listen to how much the media hates the right. Their favorite comedian hates the right. Their favorite band hates the right. Their stupid college friends hate the right. They're stupid college professors hate the right.
BUT these under-25s get older. They start owning property. They start families. They get jobs. Eventually, that capitalism that they grew up hearing was so evil starts to work for them. Throw in the latest batch of left-wing lunacy (such as their present biases against masculinity and whiteness) and then a whole lot of those former lefties flip the fucking switch.
One thing that I think is creating future Republicans is that the left are now associated with being anti-free speach. A 20-year-old slacktivist might think that censoring "the bad people" is great, but it's not so great once you develop the maturity to realize that it could happen to you, too.
Because politics is a pendulum. The right-wing will never win and neither will the left-wing. They will fight each other forever.
