Re: Mush-Brain Mega-Thread (Brandon and His Presidency)
I know that I'm biased, but I have yet to see a single argument that's even almost convincing for the legality of the mandate.
The big gun that the zombies like to bring out is the Supreme Court decision from 1905 that they misunderstand.
When they're not talking about that, they seem to believe that whatever the President says overrides whatever your governor says, which is wildly untrue. They have no conception of states' rights. They pretend that the 10th Amendment doesn't exist.
They have this curious idea that the US President is a dictator. When he's Republican, he's HITLER. When they like him, OBEY.

So Biden is just going to do what he's been doing, which is to encourage private businesses to follow illegal mandates. Maybe he can't legally punish them for failing to, but if enough businesses jump to his tune, what's the difference between that and an illegal mandate?Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 3:13 pmOSHA, who are the ones in charge of enforcing it, can't do it without the courts. Ever since this mandate was announced, there's been a lot of writing about how small OSHA actually is. They have only a few thousand agents for the millions of job sites all over the country. This mandate was already going to be a huge burden on them. It was not going to go smoothly. They were going to depend mostly on people turning in their employers for defying the mandate.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 4:49 amI'm pretty sure Biden's administration is still pushing the mandate through and will enforce it. What does Biden care? He's not getting two terms either way, short of an absolute miracle.
The Biden Administration responded early this week to the court's initial halt on the mandate by telling businesses to keep going despite that. A lot of conservative commentators got in up in arms about it. "Biden's defying the court! Tyranny!"
BUT all that Biden did with that statement was encourage businesses to do something that they can legally do anyway.
Here's my layman's understanding of how thiis works (going by recent Supreme Court actions):
Your employer or school can legally require you to be vaccinated. I don't like it, but that seems to be true.
Your state PROBABLY can. That will be the next argument. All of these other vax requirements that leftoids love to mention (measles, polio, etc.) are state regulations.
Can the federal government do it, though? FUCK NO.
Biden proposes and megacorp disposes.

Without legal cover, private businesses can be held liable for enforcing the mandate if employees end up injured or dead as a result of following themrabidtictac wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 9:45 pmSo Biden is just going to do what he's been doing, which is to encourage private businesses to follow illegal mandates. I think they can also be sued for wrongful termination as well

Not everyone will be on board, if anything this will be a good way to determine if a job is worth your time now.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 9:45 pmbut if enough businesses jump to his tune, what's the difference between that and an illegal mandate?

Re: Mush-Brain Mega-Thread (Brandon and His Presidency)
My job has taken a "wait and see" approach to the mandate. No one has even asked me about my "vaccination status".
I know that not everyong is in my situation and that this mandate has done plenty of damage, but I'm hoping that it will all work out in the end. I'm keeping a close eye on it, at least.

Odd situation. Here I am, sitting in my mother's basement in Krautland, which is destined to become a caliphate, and employers aren't even allowed to ask you about any medical status, including vaccinations, of course.
But I'm sure Spergy Cat will find a way to spin this so Ohio is somehow not ultra cucked regardless.

You have an actual vaccine passport for the unvaccinated faggot, don't act smug like germany is safe.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 3:25 amOdd situation. You're the one who acts smug, thinking you'll be protected from shitlibbery because you live ass-end of nowhere. But your state is going to get more and more blue, just like the proverbial frog with his boiling water, until you suddenly can't go anywhere because the entire country is hard blue. You're currently surrounded and acting smug because you think the zombie shitlib infestation hasn't taken over your enclave yet.

And when I say "the entire country is hard blue," I don't mean everyone in the united states is a shitlib. I mean that the city centers hold the densest population and they will be hard blue. This has been happening for ages. Portland, Seattle and Austin are the canaries in the coal mine. The virus is spreading out from california and will infest every major city within the continental US.

Don't you have a door to barricade riot nigger? Ohio is not like other blue states where 60% of the population lives in cities. We had an 8 point difference while I imagine it will get even bigger in 2024.
