As someone who doesn't have a problem with profanity, and uses it ubiquitously, the fuck-this and fuck-that in Star Trek doesn't sit well at all. Never has it been like that in Star Trek and introducing it now is unnecessary and jarring .
I agree. It's especially noticeable when you look at TNG, where Picard always yells British insults like "what the devil" as opposed to "what the hell". The whole point of Trek is that humanity has become more civilised. Why would they suddenly switch back to 21st century slang?
Not to mention, it adds an extra layer of immaturity to this version of Star Trek. If it was Discovery, I wouldn't care, but it's weird in a show about Picard.
Also, the Borg were completely pointless. The cube crashes onto the planet and they add jack shit to the finale aside from Seven of Nine killing off the tertiary villain who was wandering around in it. They have nothing to do with the android-Romulan prophecy.

It's like they're pretending the whole Borg drama is just something that happened years ago and is no longer an active threat. Fucking around with a cube could cause shit to hit the fan at trans-warp speed if someone were to accidentally press a "Send coordinates to Borg Collective" button or something. I don't think they're cool with people appropriating their stuff.
Unless Season 2 will be the return of the Borg Queen. Gotta milk dat Locutus arc some more.

Give it lip service, you mean. I predict the majority of the arc will focus on Seven of Nine, with Picard giving her support. Also, Seven will tell Picard to fuck off because he was only Borg for 1 day.
I'm completely and utterly baffled; Mike Stoklasa hit the nail on the head when he said Picard and Data's relationship in Picard is written like a gay romance. Bravo Kurtzman.
