Anyway speaking of John Wick anyone every seen Collateral? Staring Tom Cruise and Jamir Foxx and directed by Michael Mann, love that movie, favorite parts are the interactions between the two in the cab and the club scene.
Sure. It's solid, but it has a very sucky ending. Time after time Mann fucks up the endings of his otherwise great films.

I can't even disagree.

Collateral was my favorite.
Manhunter was great.
Heat had a good first half but sloppy conclusion. Everything after the city street gunfight was messy. Kane and Lynch 1 did Heat better than Heat did.

Or he fucks 'em up with his terrible director's cuts. Last of the Mohicans was a masterpiece before he cut it up to make it more serious.

Decided to rewatch Collateral and while its pretty good the flip flop change Jamie Fox's character makes when he is send out as Vincent is beyond ridiculous.
And Mark Ruffalo is pretty terrible too but that goes without saying.

Mark Ruffalo is one of the worst actors I've seen in movies over the past decade and half or so. His business skills must be amazing to keep getting these high paying gigs.

Hes still making directors cants too. He recut Heat for the 4K Blu-ray version, he shat out a recut of that Blackhat shit that isnt even available on home video or VOD. Manhunter is supposed to have a weaker DC too, but I've never seen it.

Collateral was great up until the club shootout ended, after that nothing made sense anymore. Why did Vincent want Max back as his driver? Why not just cap him there at the front of the club with Ruffalo, wasn't he going to kill Max anyway when the job was going to be finished? Just take that damn cab yourself and go finish the one hit you still have on your list you dimwit, or are you unable to drive? What if Max, distraught about all of this, crashes the car? Oh, he did. GG Mr. master assassin. And how convenient coincidence it turns out that Vincent's final hit, out of all ppl living in that megalopolis, is the new crush of Max who he just met before taking Vincent in his cab, what a stupid twist. Next Max turns an Action Jackson, easily defeating a police officer detaining him, rescuing his newly heartthrob and even defeating Vincent in the end.

The first 3/4 of the movie was still awesome with a lot of good shit for martial arts nerds like me, like the scene where Vincent handled those "homies" at the back alley. Out from the line of fire, shooting from retention (as you should in such close quarters), capping the other guy with two bullets in the center mass, one in the head. All this without any cuts and with such smooth stuntwork they must've practiced this months under a competent tactical shooting instructor.

Manhunter sure is a classic, but the final showdown between Graham and Dollarhyde felt a bit over-the-top and silly and that final scene where Graham is having quality time with his family at the beach feels somewhat jarring ending for such somber movie. Still, maybe my favourite Mann film along with Heat (which also had a bad ending :D ).

And yes, Mark Ruffalo sucks.
