Funny enough, they've done modern surveys in the military that show women's interests coincide with that. What they least want to do is work in the motor pool or do grunt work. They would much rather be flying around, or mapping logistics or data cards with their gal pals.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 9:26 pmMany will say Starship Troopers is still a sexist book because the women aren't in the same mechanized infantry as the men, but the book was written in the 60s or 70s IIRC. Women serving in combat roles is still a contentious topic. Heinlein's women were combat pilots, which is a combat role as far as I can tell. It's not the same role the men serve in because women supposedly make better pilots, and Heinlein's novel is all about meritocracy.

They should switch over to the Current Year Luftwaffe then, 'cause that's all they're doing with their "fighters".
(There's a pretty good chance they won't get to fly anything because there aren't enough planes in working condition, though.)

Indeed they are. I guess they could've gone for the WW1-style "Luftstreitkräfte" (literally just "air force"), but apprently they thought renaming the overall "Wehrmacht" into the "Bundeswehr" was enough of a change.

I'm surprised they let you have an army

It's not really an army if their materiel is more outdated and more out of shape than your average paramilitary terrorist cell.

So it's the Russian army's materiel, so it's absolutely fair.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 6:22 pmIt's not really an army if their materiel is more outdated and more out of shape than your average paramilitary terrorist cell.
