The second movie feels like a tax scam.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 4:32 pmWhy the fuck does Motaro have an upper body that's just a normal dude with horns? I feel like this isn't brought up enough - especially with regards to the stellar work on Goro in the previous movie.

I grew up watching him as the bleeding heart hippie dad on Family Ties.
It's so funny for me to see him playing the total opposite of that character.

Is Spoony dead yet?

He was great as the mean father-in-law on the Drew Carey Show. "You're all making fools of yourselves" - while dangling from a chandelier.

I just rewatched Fight Club again, and even though I still dig it, as you get older, it just starts to feel more and more childish. “We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.” Yeah, it's called growing up. Also, this antipathy to capitalism and consumerism Tyler Durden has is pretty ridiculous, what would be his solution instead? Anarchy? Yup, that solves all the problems of the modern world. Laughable, but still fun movie!
When passing through the Valley of Humiliation, slaves and dastards, exposing their sores, sob aloud for consolation and sympathy.

The final confrontation between D-FENS and Prendergast in Falling Down sums it up pretty nicely:
>they live to everybody. they lie to the fish! doesn't give you the right to do what you did today.

Fight Club was made in the 90s and it's perfect for the Zeitgeist.
Saying that it's anti capitalism is also oversimplificating it. It's anti bank.
Plus, Tyler is the bad guy. A figment of imagination tuned to the absolute extreme of an office drone's resentment towards society that forced him into living as an obedient pussy without any excitement in his life.
Both the book and the movie are still great.

Fight Club is boring, the music sucks, and Fincher is an overrated shit director. Like a lot of 90s directors he had one great movie (Se7en) followed by mediocrity.

Sounds rather contrarian, Razorfag.
