[*]Some idiot (the main villain I guess?) chasing Ethan through a tunnel with a
helicopter and then being surprised when he blows the fuck up
That actually makes sense in the movie. The bad guy in the helicopter is trying to pick up a bad guy on the train with a grappling hook, then Tom Cruise punches the bad guy on the train, takes the grappling hook, and hooks it to the train. So the helicopter bad guy is stuck to the train. He only follows it into the tunnel because he's tied to it with a heavy cable.
MI:1 is bretty good. Nobody really expected it to become a series when it came out.

It probably didn't help that I've only seen the latter half of this final scene, so any context as to who was there for what reason had eluded me.

You forget one thing, Cruise's boner for looking cool on a motorcycle
I'm not enough of a fan or detractor to have noticed this pattern.

I had completely forgotten about that Limp Wrizted M. I. song for the past 12 years at least. Then I heard it on the radio about 3 days ago, and suddenly it gets talked about here shortly after. Fucking DHI, man.
Hmm... who knew that a recently released movie is talked about in the Movie Thread... dammit all to Hell!

In addition to the shitty Limp Bizkit song, it also had a shitty Metallica song released with it.
I didn't even know that. By that point, Metallica was already mega garbage.

Yes and the specific song "I Disappear" was especially bad even by then-contemporary Metallica standards. It's the song whose release online is what triggered Lars's Napster spergout, too.
Is Spoony dead yet?

Speaking of documentaries, did anyone see Dinesh's new film?
I actually enjoyed America: Imagine a World Without Her and the Obama Is Scary ones, but I didn't the last one. Is it worth it, or has he fallen off the wagon since jail?
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

I remember downloading "I dissappear" from Napster and being baffled how shit they had become (even by Load/Reload standards). Maybe there's something even worse in those St. Anger and Lulu albums, I haven't really listened them.
