Soy and corn are like the top 2 poison foods in the USA. Soaked in weed killer and put in food and drinks. Read up on it, Rushy, it's sickening.

Dunno why you rate Jackie Brown so highly. That's a 5 at best for me with it's forced dialogue.

The fact that he paid to see Soylo was proof enough for usGuest wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 1:33 amTheres a difference between knowing something and having concrete proof of something.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. The dialogue was 90% of the appeal for meKugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 1:48 amDunno why you rate Jackie Brown so highly. That's a 5 at best for me with it's forced dialogue.
You'll recall that he sells illegal weapons. He sells Chinese model AK-47s. For all we know the .45s he sells could be some ghetto Chinese model .45 with a serious fucking jamming problem.da PAC Nigguh wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 2:37 amPlus he's wrong about the .45 having a serious jamming problem.
It was also pointed out that he was full of shit by Bridget Fonda's character

Re: Movie Thread
It depends how you view it (KB). As a "serious movie" it is kinda laughable, but it delivers as a montage of homages to cult classics and Tarantino's love letter to filmmaking. Let's say it functions on a meta level.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 7:39 pmI'd rate Jackie Brown higher than Pulp Fiction. Kill Bill's shite, both parts
Dialogue is on the same level with Pulp Fiction IMO, JB also has deeper and better characters. Soundtrack is awesome and the film is stylish as hell. If there's something bad in JB, it's Chris Tucker, but he doesn't spoil anything more than the one scene he's in. Tucker fits into comedic relief clown roles in cheap comedies and nothing else, he should be kept away from serious drama. That was a strange miscasting from Tarantino who usually gets his casting spot on.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 1:48 amDunno why you rate Jackie Brown so highly. The opening credits scene is a good example of JB's excellent style. Great mixing of images and music, the lyrics are just perfect for the scene.
This isn't a current year stronk womyn, this is a legit strong character who's also a woman, something lollywood has forgot how to write a long time ago. JB is the eternal testimony how men write the best female characters and how huwhites write & direct the best blaxploitations.
When passing through the Valley of Humiliation, slaves and dastards, exposing their sores, sob aloud for consolation and sympathy.

And that's the thing. Pulp Fiction overall is pretty goofy and thus I think it fits. JB is right in that uncanny valley of not as goofy but too goofy to take itself so serious for me.veris leta facies wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 10:43 amDialogue is on the same level with Pulp Fiction IMO
