It didn't flop. It made a profit. If people will pay for Disney to shit on their faces and call it Star Wars, people will pay for another mediocre Godzilla remake.

The budget was like 160 million and it couldn't even break 600 million. The profit margins had to be razor fucking thin, especially if WB had to split it with the godless Chinamen who cooked up this scheme.
