It's not really a blaxploitation though. The music and some of the stylings are meant to evoke blaxploitation but it's just a straight psychological crime dramaveris leta facies wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 10:43 amhow huwhites write & direct the best blaxploitations.

Re: Movie Thread
Child's Play screwed up casting an older Andy. It was better with a naïve little boy, not a man-child who wants to hump his hot mom instead of play with dolls.
Re: Movie Thread
The real question raised by this remake.
"Is Aubrey Plaza Mommy GF material?"

They already remade Black Devil Doll From Hell.
Re: Movie Thread
Spider-man movies were on this weekend.
Spider-man 2 is still the best, 3 I don't dislike that much anymore. The goof is there, but it's short and was kinda enjoyable lol
Fell asleep at Amazing Spider-man and twice at AS-man 2.

Re: Movie Thread
I prefer the ASM movies because they aren't as cheesy and boomer as the Raimi movies, but man they have some serious pacing problems (music video director) and the first is useless because it's just a remake of the first Maguire movie. The second was okay, but killing off Emma's character is silly and it's just a set-up for the Sinister Six movie Sony keeps pretending will ever happen.
Re: Movie Thread
Two biggest problems in Raimi Spider-Man films is the horrible miscasting for both Peter Parker and Mary-Jane, neither Maguire or Dunst fit the characters. Mary-Jane is suppose to be much feistier than Dunst and Maguire is much whinier in the film than he's suppose to be.
Re: Movie Thread
I think they were trying to cast a well-known little guy (little = young in Hollywood) and he was all they could find.
