I read up the sypnosis for the new Powers Rangers movie and was wondering if it is accurate because it sound truly awful.

From all reviews, the new Power Rangers is total garbage. I know Kermode hated it. Comparisons are being made to Transformers by Bay.

The trailers didn't look too promising either, but that's to be expected given the current status of most Hollywood schlock, and unfortunately, it'll make tons of undeserved cash at the box office.

I guarantee they'll never make it past one sequel. Muh nostalgia ought to have cooled off by then.

Also not sure why they made it a deep character study like Man of Steel or something considering their Super Sentai footage will never be like that ever.

They really are trying to copy video games by making something to be a franchise with sequels from the start rather than just making something and giving it a sequel if it's popular.

It's like they went "Mmh, sequels and reboots often make more cash than original shit" and came to the conclusion that they should brute-force sequels into existance.

And really, what're they gonna put in all of these movies? Having the Green Ranger and Lord Zedd in the next one might still cause some nostalgia boner, but who is nostalgic for anything after they've finally stopped using the Zyuranger suits?

I think they just roll a die to decide that stuff. There's nothing that's actually planned about it, just an idea to make a fuckload of movies and money.
