Modern novels are impossible to read. At some point, everyone just forgot how to write and turned into Chuck Wendig.

Reading The Hunt For Red October. It's okay, but just from the opening scene I can tell you the movie is much better.

The movie is pretty much flawless so I don't see the need to read the book. It's part of John McTiernan's trilogy of perfection along with Predator and Die Hard.
