Germany doesn't have history beyond the WW2. Nothing happened before that. That's when Germany started and that's how it'll be always defined.Cuckara wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 7:14 pmI recently read Ernst Jünger's Storm of Steel (Michael Hoffman's English translation of Jünger's 1961 revision). It was very interesting. Anyway, this place has a bunch of Germans, so I have a question for you guys; what is Jünger's reputation in Germany nowadays? Did the 100th anniversary of World War I spark discussion of him and his work?

Re: Books
Actually it was the German Reich that existed since 1871. Prussia was just the largest chunk of it.

Hilariously enough, history teachers don't actually have that much time teaching such modern stuff. History books also tend to get dry as shit once you hit the 1800s or 1900s and the amount of polidick quotes goes through the roof.

European history immediately post-Napoleon is amazing. The entire Concert of Europe concept is cool as fuck. And right after it, you had Bismarck playing original 4D chess and taking on Prussia's biggest enemies and maneuvering right under their noses. Too bad History classes focus almost exclusively on muh Springtime of Nations and muh Partition of Niggerland.

Really? They did a couple of Nancy Drew adaptations (a film and a TV show) in 2019 , and both starred a white girl.
