I used to love Knight Rider as a kid. I even met KITT at Universal Studios. I've heard people say the show sucked and didn't age well. But I've been watching it lately and I still think it's great.
They just don't make TV like this anymore as far as I know.
That's why they think it didn't age well. Nobody does it like that anymore, therefore it
must be outdated.

Respectfully disagree - sitcoms can be shit but getting rid of laugh tracks is the best thing showrunners ever did.

How stunning and brave of them to get rid of a terrible idea several years later than it ought to have died.

Yes - it should have been done earlier, but the ones without laugh tracks are generally better than the ones with them - at least as far as I'm concerned.
It's hard to enjoy a show I'd probably really like (MASH, for example) because the fucking canned laughter keeps taking me out of it.

It's amazing how much better your show can be if you don't have to include scenes where the actors just stand around for a couple seconds, waiting for the laugh track to be over.

And shows can still suck without the laughtrack - but there are definitely standouts like Malcolm in the Middle, the UK Office (Gervais is a faggot but he definitely had a prime), and pre-Nigflix Arrested Development.

I grew up in the laugh track era so my brain just filters it out. I don't even hear it unless it's pointed out. A lot of these shows were filmed in front of live studio audiences, so the laughs you hear are real. But with M*A*S*H, they were canned. Originally the US got the laugh track version and foreign markets got a version without.
The 70s seems to be the peak of sitcoms for me. The 80s sitcoms were mostly terrible, with the exceptions of Night Court and ALF.
Whenever I see the modern Chuck Lorre shit it's like, "dick joke, fart joke, sex joke, pop culture reference" and repeat.

Even Cheers? That's one that I'd probably like if the old way of making sitcoms didn't bug me.

I wanna find a version of Linkara's movie
with laugh tracks.
It should always play whenever Lupa or Marz are on screen.
