There is one reason to watch the upcoming Bond movie (just don't pay anything for watching it):

I would just wait until somebody posts that particular clip on some porn site.

Because it's a pop culture and all the cool people will see it and discuss it on social media. You want to be cool, don't you? You don't want to be left out, different, suspicious.
The only Bond that' still part of pop culture is the type of Bond that Austin Powers makes fun of.

I also recently saw the trailer for this new Bond, and the continuity required to understand anything is worse than Marvelshit

Craig's Bond actually made a fairly big impact with Skyfall, but that was 2012. The relevance of that franchise won't be restored until we get a really good movie that appeals to everyone again, and whilst I might enjoy No Time To Die, I can't see it being that film, purely for the continuity heaviness alone. It's awkward to say it, since Craig's Bond was originally all about returning to the basics and the grittiness, but the series needs to go back to its roots again. One-off adventures with outlandish villains would actually be unique in this day and age. Just focus on making one great flick, and you've got it in the bag.

So the new Dracula miniseries came and went and it was shit, with a few moments of greatness. It's pozed as shit of course, Van Helsing is now a strong, ingenious wombyn who defeats Dracula single handedly. Jonathan and Mina, the aggressively white hetero Christian couple who's love for each other is so strong in the novel it proves to be Dracula's undoing fall to Dracula in the first episode. Harker is raped by Dracula, but succumbs to his will and invites him inside to murder Mina. Dracula is basically a sassy homo, like every other character Moffat writes. It also decides that Dracula being in an interracial love triangle is more interesting than dealing with a century old secret society pledged to studying and destroying him.

There is some good stuff in there to, not enough to overwhelm the shit but I'll point it out. Namely, Dracula is just fucking evil. He's a nasty, sadistic, brutal monster. He locks up his Brides and rapes them in the hopes of getting them pregnant somehow. It's implied he doesn't just drink people blood but consumes their souls, stealing their memories and their skills. This lines up really nicely with his characterization of, again, being a sassy Queen. He's basically a camp gay Bond villain, which isn't a particularly good characterization of Dracula but is really funny considering this is the current year and the fact that the writers are gayer than Obama.

I don't know if the intention of the writers was to portray their rapist, serial killer, parasite of a main character as the archetypal hedonistic queer but it's one of the most startlingly accurate portrayals of homosexual psychosis I've seen in a long time. Also amusing is the reaction of the gay community to the show. They're flipping the fuck out, and with good reason. It holds a mirror up to their ugly little Souls.

All in all the show isn't good. There's some good Gore and some amusing unintended subtext though. If you're really hard up for version of Dracula that's unambiguously a horrible monster you could probably do worse then this miniseries.

It was written by Steven Moffat, his game is old.
