Kind of but not really. It's not a mystery meant to keep people watching in the hopes of it being solved.
Difficult to explain and dubious for how long they could've kept it up anyway.

I like most of Lynch's stuff but he's sometimes a bit too obtuse for his own good.

Twin Peaks is one of my favorite things. I'm old enough to have seen it when it first aired and it had a big effect on me and I still think it's one of the best shows ever. About once a decade, I rewatch the whole thing.

That said, I would say that the OG mystery box series is The Prisoner from the late 1960s. That show is great, too.

What did you think of the return of Twin Peaks? I don't care for it.

I thought that the return Twin Peaks was even better than the original. I loved it. I can't think of anything that is as consistently unpredictable as that.

Even after having heard several explanations and having come to a potentially good understanding of the what and why it is the way it is, I still don't like the viewing experience.

Lonely Highway and Mulholland Drive remain my favourites of his. They strike a good balance of strange and dreamlike while remaining interesting and engaging.

The Return goes a good bit too hard towards the coffee and too little towards the donut for my taste.

so far, my impression of Twin Peaks is that it's a soap opera where all the lovable weirdos in America have somehow been trapped in the same town together

and one of them just happens to be Columbo Jr

it is very entertaining
