What are you taking about? The Roman gods are original characters do not steal.

What the Romans did do though is refine what the Greeks did and do it better. They didn't invent anything though.

Greeks invented threesomes and romans added women for example

Oh you mean what every civilization ever has done? They all went "Oh yeah, I know that god as well but we call him [name]". That's why the abrahamic religions were so outrageous. For one because no religions before that were so deadset on claiming their deities being "real" and for another because no other religion would dream of claiming the other deities of another religion were plain non-existant.
Especially the latter is a very recent trend. While the god of the Jews would still warn them about worshipping other gods for they are false, not because they don't exist, Christianity and especially Islam were fucking nuts over claiming that only their god even exists in the first place fullstop.

It wasn't just the Gods either. Instead of Odysseus you've got Ulysses, instead of Heracles, Hercules and so on.

And why not? It's tales. People back then thought differently about religion and such. There was a general understanding that those weren't necessary actual people that actually lived at some point. Just like neither Jesus nor Muhammad ever did.
