I don't understand why "But Harrison Ford wanted to be killed off" is an acceptable excuse. Who the fuck cares what the actor wants? He's just an actor.
Nobody listened to Mark Hamill when he told Rian Johnson his script was shit. But for some reason we should listen to Ford's idiotic deathwishes.

If an actor wants to be written out there's not much you can do except oblige him because either way he's not showing up for another instalment

If an actor gives a vague 'the script is shit' and wants the script to be rewritten, you tell him to go fuck himself. In the first place if the actor knew how to write he'd be the writer and not the actor. In the second place, nobody put a gun to his head and told him he had to do the movie and, in the third place, nobody's holding up production for weeks to rewrite the script to satisfy the whims of some vain movie star

What are you going to do? Not have Han Solo in the movie and kill him off screen? Replace Ford?

Besides, he wanted Han Solo dead. D E D. On screen, him playing Han Solo, getting killed for fucking good. Because Ford never wanted to hear a question about reprising that role ever again.
No idea what his deal is anyway. It's not like he was typecast by the role or even seems to enjoy acting in general. He appears to just be a prick.
