This character was removed from the show before I was watching it in the 80s because a few black people complained that he was speaking proper English instead of Ebonics.
Reminder: If he talks too black it's racist. If he doesn't talk black enough it's racist. Also white people are the problem.
Yep. Dunno who else remembers this, but when the movie The Patriot came out in 2000 some black activists tried to start a boycott. The reason? The film didn't show black slaves being abused enough.

Issac Kappy killed himself a few days back. Hurled himself off a bridge. Generally crazy actor and musician who called Seth Green a pedo.

Huh, a follower of Q, a Trump supporter and a pizza connection guy. Quite curious.

I remember that. They said they were downplaying slavery or something by having the black folk on Mel's farm be freedmen or something instead of slaves, forgetting the movie takes place in Delaware not fucking Virginia.

When having your film set in the times of slavery, you're not allowed to have it actually be set in one of the nicer places. That's like historical revisionism or something.

Depicting blacks as fighting for the American revolutionary army and getting black slaves who fought getting freedom is historical revisionism, even if it actually happened in real life. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_A ... n_Patriots

Depicting black slaves of whitey living in a constant state of rape and torture to the point where one wonders how they were ever able to pick any cotton in between whippings and beatings is a very accurate and realistic portrayal of history.

Dunno why you'd beat your property nearly to death. How much money do you think they had?

It would be actually easier to free them and let them get hung up by a roving lynch mob looking for lone strays
Or you know, SELL them and make a profit.

All the plantations must've secretly been owned by white Northerners, the only ones westly enough to have them I guess.

My dead great-grandfather who actually knew who that guy was can finally have some closure.
