He definitely used to be cool, but then got bitter in the 90s because Hollywood wouldn't give him an award. Living with--and divorcing--Loni Anderson couldn't have helped either.
At least he was one of the few celebrities that didnt live in California. His body may have been old, but at least his sanity never left him.

Burt Reynolds was in some kickass movies. Even the shittier ones I'd absolutely love these days to replace all that soyfag shit we get in cinemas now.

He was before my time. When I was a kid he was already washed-up, doing these awful vanity projects no one liked.
I happened to see Deliverance at a friend's house some time ago and was shocked at how good he was in it. He was a real badass in that movie and suddenly it clicked with me why he was a star. If only his ego wasn't so big and he had picked more good projects like that one, his career wouldn't have tanked.
