Supposedly with Keaton, he is playing the Batman he played under Burton under the typical multiverse. My understanding is that they will retcon the Schumacher films out of existence.

Just the thought gets my blood boiling!

The Schumacher movies don't even take place in the same universe anyway, and now that he's dead it'll be crass to talk shit about Forever, still the best Batman movie. It would be like that middle aged Disney faggot still butthurt about TPM who made Jar Jar into a homeless exiled clown.

I'm with guest here. You can't really retcon something out of existence which was never part of your Current Year continuity to begin with. As much as I would approve of more Freezenegger.

Bringing back Keaton is probably some desparate Terminator-Dark-Fate-style play to salvage their mess of a franchise with extra nostalgia. This also further muddles their current brand of capeshit movies, with villains like Joker, Penguin and Catwoman who have now been dead for decades and a further disjointed tone (whether or not they try to make this more Tim-Burton-esque).
Though I guess this is one way to get their black Two-Face aka Black-Face.

Michael Keaton is 68. Are we going to get geriatric Batman?

It's probably silly to hope for a bit of Batman Beyond considering these live-action Batman flicks can't even into Nightwing.

This rumored shit about Keaton Bats being the new Nick Fury of the DCU makes me think Warner didn't learn its lesson with Justice League and is still trying to copy Marvel. That anyone involved with Birds of Prey is still employed there means they're fucking retarded.

The guy just above me at work is a 54-year-old gay man who lives alone with two small dogs. He's always recommending restaurants and movies to people. Loves musical theater. Keeps up with the Marvel movies. Is always watching the latest popular thing on Netflix. In his office, you can often find him listening to Christina Aguilera or Adele or some other shit like that. He's a very nice guy, but a mega-liberal and we're Facebook friends and today he posted the cringiest copy-and-paste thing that I've ever read.

I felt that I should share.

X-Men is about civil rights. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get X-Men.

Black Panther is about civil rights. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get Black Panther.

Captain America literally fought nazis. He is the embodiment of fighting the alt-right. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get Captain America.

The Empire in Star Wars is fascist. The Rebel alliance are Anti-Fascist. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get Star Wars.

The Punisher isn’t meant to be a role model for police or armed forces. So much so that the writers of The Punisher made him actively speak out against it in a comic. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get The Punisher.

Deadpool is queer. He’s pansexual. Fact. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get Deadpool.

Star Trek is about equality for all genders, races and sexualities. As early as the mid-60s it was taking a pro-choice stance and defending women’s right to choose. One of its clearest themes is accepting different cultures and appearances and working together for peace. (It’s also anti-capitalist and pro-vegan). If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get Star Trek.

Superman and Supergirl (and a whole host of other superheroes) are immigrants. The stance of those comics is pro-immigration and pro-equality and acceptance. If you didn’t get that, you didn’t get Superman or Supergirl.

Stan Lee said “Racism and bigotry are among the deadliest social ills plaguing the world today.” If you’re bigoted or racist, you didn’t get any of the characters Stan Lee created.

The stories we grew up with all taught us to value other people and cultures and to treasure the differences between us. Only villains were xenophobic, or sexist, or racist, or totalitarian. I can’t understand how anyone can have missed that.

If you’re upset that there’s a black Spider-Man, or a black Captain America, or a female Thor, or that Ms Marvel is Muslim, or that Captain Marvel was pro-feminism, or any of the other things right wing “fans” say is “stealing their childhood” - you never got it in the first place. The things you claim are now “pandering to the lefties” were never on your side to begin with.

If you consider yourself a fan of these things, but you still think the LGBTQ+ community is too “in your face”, or have a problem with Black Lives Matter, or want to “take the country back from immigrants”, then you’re not really a fan at all.
Geek/Nerd culture isn’t suddenly left wing... it always was. You just grew up to be intolerant. You became the villain in the stories you used to love.

What about us folk who aren't white who hate commies and nigs? Did that bitch just assume this Feather's race? I'm sure that's some kind of sin in his/her/them's progressive bible of socialism.

Did someone in the replies try to tell him that the blackwashing and the gender bending of white characters are sexist and racist, or at least did they tell him to fuck off to the nearest glory hole and to put an AIDS riddled dick in his mouth?

YES!

I mean, no. He posted it yesterday. It's gotten three likes and no replies.

I like how people keep pointing out that cover art from 1941 of Captain America punching Hitler as proof that comics have always been "woke". They think that Hitler from the very beginning has always represented racism and transphobia and climate change denial and Fox News.

In 1941, to the US, Hitler was an invader, bulldozing his way into other European countries, amassing power, becoming a threat to the rest of the world. The concentration camps weren't widely reported on in the US during the duration of the war. The US didn't enter the war to save the Jews. We entered the war because Japan, Germany's ally, bombed us at Pearl Harbor.

Hitler was the world's most infamous dictator. And that's who super-patriot Captain America was punching. He wasn't punching "racism" and "misogyny".
