I don't actually know anything about Bond. But I thought they were all supposed to be in the same continuity and shared a lot of the same actors.

And take a look at how big the Godzilla universe was before the reboot: (There are actually more than just the ones listed here.)
https://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/Continu ... continuity

I do give the Marvel movies credit for having a feasible long-term plan and being able to keep their continuity straight. Because we've seen numerous other studios try copycat unsuccessfully.

I'd be hesitant to count Rodan and Mothra as part of the continuity. The former features two Rodans who both die at the end, and Mothra is pretty inconsistent even within her Godzilla crossovers, switching from her adult form back into her larva stage between movies with no explanation.

None of that matters when 90% of those movies are total garbage and 10% are regular garbage.

Bond isn't getting re-booted all the time, Voice. It's all the same James Bond.

The Craig movies were a reboot. GoldenEye was arguably a soft reboot

By the logic, it's a reboot every time they switch actors. Even the Craig movies are technically prequels since they haven't rehashed the previous movies.

They've all got the same dead wife

No they aren't. It's impossible for Spectre and any of Spectre involved Connery films to take place in the same continuity

Great, now I just had to google and find fan speculations about James Bond being a Time Lord.

Wasn't Connery fighting SMERSH or something and didn't know about SPECTRE until later?

Point is, Bond goes by the same continuity logic as your typical agent crime novel like Jerry Cotton and such. Read in any order you want, don't think too much about anything out of the current story.

That's only in From Russia With Love. He's perfectly aware of who he's fighting from Thunderball onwards.
I mean, you could make an argument for diverging continuities based on You Only Twice and On Her Majesty's Secret Service because in both films Bond seems to be meeting Blofeld for the first time. But in the latter film he's got souvenirs from all his previous adventures (Ursula Andress' belt and knife for example) and the opening theme is a montage of previous films, so despite jokes like 'This never happened to the other fellow' they're clearly meant to be the same guy.

The Craig Bond on the other hand is clearly not the same guy as the 1962-2004 Bond
