And it's not the timeslot. At least not here. It never had big changes and The Simpsons was never off air. They just show reruns when there are no new episodes. In fact, they even show old episodes despite new ones being available on the same day with the new episode being shown at prime time of 20:15. (20:00 is news, 20:15 is either a movie or whatever big show the channel has in store. It's the same on every German channel. Some don't have news but 20:15 is always when the most successful programme starts)

Top timeslot, syndication out the ass, never dropped, always on the same (second biggest) channel. And yet you don't ever hears somebody talk about yesterday's episode or reference anything from any newer episode at all. It's dead, Jim.

Like even some of the worst episodes of futurama are better than most cartoons, I have a hard time believing that they ruined it that badly.
Listen, the worst episodes of the first run are like Citizen Kane compared to even your average episode of the second run. It's not quite as bad as nu-Simpsons, but the plots are weak, the jokes are unfunny and forced. The best Futurama episodes, in my opinion, are the ones like the Star Trek episode or the Nixon presidency episode, you know episodes where the humour works on two levels. You don't need to have seen or know anything about original Star Trek (or Richard Nixon) to enjoy those episodes, but if you do the jokes become funnier because you realise how clever they really are.

Second run Futurama works on one level at all times. There's a lot of muh politics sperging, one of the first proper episodes (as opposed to the DTVs that were cut up into episodes) was an episode about gay marriage and Proposition 8, another one was about evolution. They both aged badly because they were big topics eight years ago but even three years later nobody was really talking about them. If you thought Futurama fellating Al Gore in the first run was bad, this is like ten times worse.

I'm not deliberately bitter about second run Futurama. I love the first run. I was pissed that it got cancelled. I bought all the DTVs (the first two when they actually came out) and the first volume of the new series proper, so believe me when I say that I wanted to like it. If anything second run Futurama just taught me why you don't ask for things to be revived. The first run was an excellent sitcom that built a convincing futuristic world and built interesting and funny characters within that world. The second run is basically just 'Hey, look at [thing]. Wouldn't it be funny if [thing] was in the future?'

Imagine spending a billion US dollars to be a loser. Could've watched animu and be one for free.

Futurama, Family Guy, Arrested Development, and Firefly all got canceled by the same fat female FOX network president ((Gail Berman)) who continued to fail upward after all those blunders.

Now it has been on for so long that the new generation haven't seen the old good stuff and think the new is shit (because it kinda is) and people who watched and loved it before has seen it slowly die and been dead, but still alive, for years now.
The new generation only knows about the memes on social media.

To be honest I can't blame her for Family Guy or Firefly, although she probably should have renewed Firefly for five years just so people could see that Joss Whedon's a no talent hack who can't write characters or dialogue for shit, instead of the 'genius' hipster God that hipster SJWs like(d) to see him as.

And it ain't Family Guy... that show is an old dog needing to be taken behind the barn.
I can't believe they made a fucking World of Warcraft episode more than ten years after South Park made theirs. And people say the Simpsons are the ones out of touch and behind the times.

I miss ol' Hank. I hope Mike Judge can succeed in bringing the show back.
Why would you want it? They're already talking about making it 'more political'.
King of the Hill ended at exactly the right time.
I'm surprised they'd bring it back now that both Luanne (Brittany Murphy) and Lucky (Tom Petty) are dead. The actor who played Wilson on Home Improvement died in 2003 which is why Tim Allen refuses to do reunion episodes.

Anyway, it'll suck if Greg Daniels isn't involved. He was the reason why the show initially had so much heart, and you can feel his absence, especially the way they coldly killed off Cotton. Politically, I think they mean Hank will have to deal with the post-election fallout from snowflakes, with New York Bobby probably falling in with antifa or something silly.

It's funny that they want that R rating so badly, but they still won't show tits.
Maybe if this was a Japanese production.
Japan is weird. They've got the craziest porn but their mainstream celebs are so fucking G-rated it's annoying. Just show some tits already.

The craziest porn? Sure, but not in the way you mean it. They have to censor the parts people tune in for.
