With eXistenZ there's already a far, far superior movie about VR compared to any other VR movie out there. It's cool, weird, a bit surreal and not predictable. Anybody that hasn't seen it should give it a shot at some point. I guarantee you that it's not boring.

Good taste runs on DHI. ExistenZ is a movie I've loved probably for more than ten years, at this point. That was my introduction to Cronenberg's films. ExistenZ, Scanners and Videodrome are perfect.

Nostalgia-baiting genuinely grates on me at this point. I've skipped Stranger Things and will skip Ready Player One for that reason. As much as I loved and still love movies and TV from that time, I can't stomach this commercialised nostalgia anymore than I can the hollow remakes, reboots or belated sequels.

Don't forget those (usually) non-Pixar CGi movies who always have to reference shit, even if that shit's actually too old for the target audience.

This current batch of decades will be known as a cultural dead zone, where everything was recycled instead of created.
