John Williams wouldn't call the movie bad even if he actually hated it.

Williams is 87, he has absolutely nothing to lose by talking shit, or even implying it.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 1:26 pmJohn Williams wouldn't call the movie bad even if he actually hated it.

Having been a part of Hollywood, he's guaranteed to have plenty to lose. If nothing else, he'd loose his good name.Rushy wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 1:34 pmWilliams is 87, he has absolutely nothing to lose by talking shit, or even implying it.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 1:26 pmJohn Williams wouldn't call the movie bad even if he actually hated it.

Mark Hamill managed to retain his despite vocally not liking Rian's choices for his character. And I need to emphasise eighty-seven. Even if the entire world suddenly hated him, Williams could retire in a mansion somewhere.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 2:02 pmHaving been a part of Hollywood, he's guaranteed to have plenty to lose. John Williams's word is so golden that I'll definitely take his word for it, no reason whatsoever for me to ever watch Rise of Skywalker. Case closed.

Milton Hershey came up with some horribly shitty tasting products towards the end of his life because he'd burnt out his tastebuds smoking cigars.da PAC Nigguh wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 3:07 pmJohn Williams's word is so golden that I'll definitely take his word for it, no reason whatsoever for me to ever watch Rise of Skywalker. So my theory is that John Williams is going blind and deaf in his old age, hence the movie looked and sounded bretty good to him.

Or he's just doing the obvious: Paying lip service in promoting an upcoming film that he worked on.

I don't want to be that guy, but an 87-year-old shouldn't be working in any capacity, let alone as a composer on one of the biggest movies of the year. His scores have been non-existent for the last two movies; the only reason I would argue against his replacement is because it would Michael Goochioni or whatever that simple fuck's name is.
Seriously, my grandfather reached his eighties and turned into a potato hooked up to a breathing machine who just sat in his rocker and watched reruns of The Andy Griffith Show all day long.

dude, Michael Giacchino is a fucking legend and I will hear no disrespect towards him. His soundtrack is like 99% of the reason LOST became as big as it did. A decade later and I still hum his stuffGuest wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 12:04 amI don't want to be that guy, but an 87-year-old shouldn't be working in any capacity, let alone as a composer on one of the biggest movies of the year.
