I think kung fu movies died a kind of death similar to westerns in the USA. Interest waned over time and period martial arts films came to be seen as passe in their own countries.

CGI wrecked martial arts movies for me.

Above The Law and Out For Justice are the best martial arts movies. Prove me wrong.
