Re: Movie Thread
The original Nightmare on Elm Street is on par with Hellraiser in my book, even the 7th where it parodied itself. Also 3 has the best movie theme since Highlander :3
Its also telling how 5 years before [CURRENT YEAR] they tried to retcon Freddy Krueger as a pedophile in the remake, where in the original it was always a vague allegiation, painting the childrens parents as the real villains. Not even Rob Zombie tried to kill off his remakes like that. That's what you get from hiring the faggot whose only minute of fame has been the music video for Smells like teen spirit.

Re: Movie Thread
I'm surprised there wasn't an at a least minor streak of dinosaur movies after Jurassic Park: The Force Awakens made a billion dollars at the box office. I mean real movies, even little independent shitkickers not the Scyfy channel original stuff that gets pumped out every week.
Re: Movie Thread
Dinosaur movies are very expensive to make and don't get an audience unless they are called Jurassic something.

Re: Movie Thread
If you go high budget they'll call you a Jurassic Park ripoff. Unless you ike try to differentiate yourself by making your dinos more scientifically accurate, but then normies would claim that's unrealistic.
If you go low budget, you have to compete with shit like Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus.

Re: Movie Thread
Some of the Friday the 13th movies are guilty pleasures of mine (particularly Part 4: "The Final Chapter") as is "Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors", but my favorite vintage slasher movie is "Sleepaway Camp" from 1984.
Its memorably bizarre right from the first scene to its famous "shocker" ending (that I've seen wrongly interpreted by some modern reviewers as transphobic). It's not a movie that you see for great acting or amazing effects, but I think it's entertaining as hell. My wife doesn't care for a lot of my tastes in 80s trash, but even she likes "Sleepaway Camp".

Re: Movie Thread
Never heard of Sleepaway Camp but I've also not seen a lot of 80s slasher movies. Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is probably the best made movie I've seen. It's a huge jump in quality from the shitty first movie, and it has that weirdly hot redhead from Hellraiser In Space. I guess it's secretly about gay pedophiles or something but I didn't notice when I watched it years ago.
Speaking of the 2010 remake, there was a minor unique twist when they made the first third of movie follow the hot blonde and tricked the audience into believing she was the lead before abruptly killing her. That's about the only good thing about it. All the money and CG in the world and all they were capable of was a generic nothingburger with absolutely no atmosphere.

Re: Movie Thread
I'm aware the character died the same way in the original, but in that one Nancy was the main character from the start and the blonde was just a minor role. The remake followed the blonde from the start and didn't bring Nancy in until later, and since it was supposed to be a reboot it seemed like they were doing something different.
