If it did one thing right, it was setting the gold standard for mecha waifu pilot uniforms.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 10:53 pmNGE has cute girls. Does Star Wars? Does Alium? I think not.
Otherwise it's just a lamer version of Sky Girls.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Lucky Star. The references are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of animu most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head.

It'll still make enough money. Then the second movie will flop even harder.

Pre-pandemic I might've agreed. There's no way this will make enough money to justify another one

Re: Movie Thread
I was pretty disappointed about the first trailer, so I think I'll give the rest a pass and watch the film mostly blind when it comes out, with no major expectations.
The Spicediver three-hour Dune (1984) cut is more than enough to sate me as a fan, but I'll be interested to see the decisions Villeneuve makes in covering it.
On a sidenote, though, I find it fucking hilarious that their first idea for a TV spin-off was about the Bene Gesserit, as if the later Bene Gesserit-focused books weren't the most boring ones.
