Even the Red Room is starting to wear me on tbh, because it's the same scene over and over.

Cooper is sitting on a chair with a gormless expression, listening to someone speak in riddles.

It was mildly amusing to see that Lynch recast the Dwarf with a CGI tree that spews electricity.

That doesn’t sound too good.

It's not even set in the town anymore lol. Could easily change the title to "Kyle MacLachlan wanders around trying to find the plot"

It took Lynch an hour and a half to establish the very basic premise, which is that Demon Coop doesn't want to return to the Black Lodge, and is trying to avoid it.

Everything else is just weird imagery.

No other story thread from seasons 1-2 carries over as far as I can tell.

Yeah, this is why I wasn’t looking forward to it or had gotten around to even watching. Sounds like it lacks the charm of the original series.

Yes, you have to approach "The Return" as an 18-hour David Lynch movie first and foremost. That's either exciting to you or it isn't.

Though I'd also add if one is critical of the rampant nostalgia and "fan service" pandering in media today,"The Return" is the opposite of that. The dead end of nostalgia is even one of its main themes. "You can't go home again."

See - I hate “I KNOW WHAT THIS IS” ass shit. Makes me regret liking TFA at the time more and more the further I get from it.

Didn’t even work for me with Bing Bing Wahoo and I’m a Nintendo cuck shill.

Didn't you clap when the Dry Bones showed up?
I already wanted to clap when to Toads showed up, but for some reason they're portrayed as lazy, entitled assholes who deserve everything Bowers had planned for them.

I mean - Jack Black was clearly excited, and Charlie fit - and it was pretty to look at - but things I recognized illicited nothing out of me. Because that’s all it is. I wanna be invested in at least a vibe, if not a plot. It had no substance or directorial ambition beyond masturbating Movieblob.
