So Netflix fucked up The Electric State.
What is The Electric State? A graphic novel by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, who has an obsession with drawing sweeping dystopian landscapes. A lot of his art projects (this included) also made it into tabletop RPGs, for some reason.
The graphic novel is about a girl and her robot friend searching for civilization in a post-apocalyptic USA full of dead robots, not-so-dead robots, and fading signs of rampant consumerism (and corpses wearing virtual reality devices that likely contributed to the apocalypse).
You'd think this would've made for a haunting, near silent road movie.
Instead we get an action adventure with Chris Pratt that barely resembles the source material beyond some familiar designs.
