This, let it die like the original cast. I love Alien/Aliens but like Terminator I’m content with what we’ve got. Lord knows we need another Dyke Fate on hand.
I’m getting too old for this shitposting.
Re: Movie Thread
Yeah, just let it rest in peace. Also, that guest is right that high quality blockbuster auteurs don't really exist anymore. Except for Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve (I'll get a lot of shit from /tv/ posters for liking these two), I can't think of any blockbuster directors who started making films within the last 25 years who have solid track records. Good directors still exist, but except for some very rare exceptions, they're not making blockbusters.

You'll get shit from guests for liking things period.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller aren't too bad. LEGO Movie was kind of great.

This, every single modern day female char has the same damn personality. They all have to be "tough", "strong", "independent". God forbid they show a sign of weakness or a more calm personality. I guess the "geeky" type of female char exists as well, but they are always hyper exaggerated and are fucking annoying.

Re: Movie Thread
Vesper in Casino Royale was probably the last true female character in film. She was "strong" and "independent" but was still hot, busty and vulnerable, and she didn't have to kickbox or be Bond's physical equal. As the years have passed, I'm increasingly convinced her character happened by chance because the producers got distracted.

Re: Movie Thread
Vesper, as the hacks who write the Bond movies wrote her, was a fucking cunt. Immensely obnoxious and insufferable in the way current year stronk wymyn generally are, but a perfect match for Bond, as he is written, because he's exactly the same way. Yeah, Eva was hot, but Bond women generally are because the Bond people understand, or used to anyway, that you can't lure the straight male audience to the cinema with ugly bull dykes.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:11 amVesper in Casino Royale was probably the last true female character in film.
No, the perfect 'strong female' Bond girl was Bouvier in Licence to Kill. She's feminine and vulnerable but she has her own agency. You'll notice she doesn't actually need Bond's help for anything.
