Kojima is a master in only one thing, shitting all over his fans and not giving them what they want. 3 was the only time that was different because he was forced to do something more appealing. 2 was a big fuck you, 4 was supposed to explain shit and end the series but was mostly confusing and 5 doesn't let you be Big Boss and find out how he became the bad guy.
Firing the fucker was the single best decision Konami ever made.

That's what makes him so endearing.

There was nothing confusing about MGS4's story. If anything, it overexplained everything.
They already made that game. It was called MGS3. And PW already had him referring to his organization as Outer Heaven.

Yeah Konami never forced changes to a Metal Gear games, no sir Konami is completely innocent. You seriously really don't and can't imagine some of the bullshit in the series being Konami fault?

Kojima had a lot of faults but come the fuck on
-On the internet, everyone end up being Spoony or Tim Buckley
-All fanbases are shit
-Most people had, have and will have shit tastes

What, about the story? That's on Kojima. All of it. Considering how over budget and time he consistently went it's a miracle they didn't kick him out sooner. 3 was Konami telling him that it better isn't shit like 2 and sells or else he'll be gone.
He's a George Lucas kinda guy. Just look at Death Stranding looking nonsensical as fuck.

Yeah, completely torpedoing their business by alienating probably their best asset, or at least the last good asset they had, to pursue a market that became completely irrelevant once Japan legalised gambling was a fucking excellent decision.

Firstly, 2 sold like hotcakes. Critics jerked it off endlessly. He could have made a million more games just like MGS2 if he wanted. He chose to do Snake Eater the way he did it
Secondly, there's no indication that he ever went over budget prior to MGSV. In fact, Konami claim that the estimated budget for MGS4 is way overstated
Thirdly, Konami don't tell him shit. Even when things got bad with MGSV, they never edited him they just tried to passive aggressively sabotage him

Indeed. MGS2 was the best-selling game in the series for quite awhile, with MGS4 being on-par, before being dethroned by MGSV. In contrast, MGS3 didn't sell as well as the other mainline games, despite its fan-favorite status.

The direction the story took with PW and MGSV was really kinda odd, but really, I don't know what kind of other prequel stories Kojima could've written after MGS4. MGS3 (and to a lesser extent, Portable Ops) pretty much sets up everything for the other games way too neatly, while MGS4 wraps up practically everything that followed before. Obviously, you can't have Big Boss confronting Zero in a prequel, since they never meet again until the very end of MGS4 and I doubt many people were that eager to see the origin stories of Shoot Gunner and Machinegun Kid.

I'd rather believe they cut his lines so they could use Kiefer as a marketing gimmick in the cheapest way possible. You don't just hire a Hollywood actor for a character who was planned from the start to barely speak, you make the guy barely speak so you can afford the actor.

"OMG they have a real Hollywood actr! This will be just like a movie!."
They might have cut down the dialogue considerably even if they'd stuck with Hayter. Apparently, Konami balked at how much they had to pay him for MGS4 and I assume Kojima had planned for MGSV to be even bigger

Keith, pretty much everything you said was flat out wrong, except for MGS2 selling super well. A sequel to a successful game almost always sells well, regardless of it's quality. MGS3 selling poorly was a direct result of MGS2 being shit.
Kojima would always take longer and more money than expected.
Konami firing him was the best decision the company ever made. Every other decision they made in the past years was downright retarded. Cancelling Silent Hills was incredibly dumb. They could've done it without Kojima anyway.

Yeah, because all the Silent Hill games after 4 were critically-acclaimed classics. It's not like Silent Hills renewed interest in the franchise or anything.

Personally they should've just stopped at 4 though. Silent Hill was never the same after Team Silent broke up.

Horror franchises always go on for too damn long, be they movies or video games.
