It's basically a step up from masturbating, so I don't see the problem here. Clearly, both of them have almost telepathic abilities to sense when one of them gives consent.

That's mainly due to how BioWare essentially turned Ryder into a Mary Sue archetype by allowing classes to be switched on the fly, thereby making companions completely useless and pointless since Ryder can handle everything. Hell, they even got rid of the majority of squad commands outside of telling them where to go.

Yeah, and that fucking sucks. It seems they've REMOVED features in these 5 years. I'm not that far in the game, but I've only seen two races. Original had, like... 6-7+? You don't even have more than 6 squadmates, which TWO are other humans...
Squadmates have ZERO customizablity. No changing armor, color or weapons. Nada.
How Bioware could be so crap I have no idea. And the earlier footage of the game looked miles better. Fucking liars.

They're obviously streamlining the gameplay so it doesn't get in the way of the story.
