I've never in my life sat through anything esports. I've tried multiple times but it's as boring as actual sports. Apparently this mentality has caught on as the LCS final was so boring people just tapped out. I've only read this in Google searches, but one particular player I guess did a bunch of shit talking then got btfo in game as well. His own personal "This is how you don't play..."

Fitan gaems can be fun to watch. Team games are almost always garbage to watch. MOBAs are garbage to watch AND play.
Rocket League is kinda alright, actually. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch any, though.

I can get fighting games since shit is actually happening there. But shit like MOBAs take too long and are a bit cryptic for casual viewership.

Plus there's always the current meta and everyone that would bother to tune in knows about it. Since there's no physical struggle to do something, it's always the same with pro players.
It's four minutes in, now those mobs are going to respawn. The jungler should get them now. He does. Riveting!
Then you have ganks. That shit plays out so slowly and it's such automated bullshit, it's boring as fuck.

Yep, watching MOBA's is 20 minutes of grinding, 10 seconds of a team fight, and immediate surrender from the loser.

I guess it's a bit like football if football involved everyone going out to buy their uniform first.

It's more like as if every player had a hard archetype they can't deviate from and are always in the same physical condition.
The best I can come up with is that it's like chess. Just that the early game is always the same openings and takes twice as long, that it never gets intelligent and that the game is over at the first check. Chess is more exciting to watch as well.
