They are trying to turn FIFA into an eSport too. There is no point in that though since you can watch the real thing and it's no different, but at least unlike shitty MOBAs tournaments for it appeared naturally without stupid amounts of money being thrown around (I'm looking at you too Overwatch and Street Fighter 5).

and I'm not so sure overwatch being esports material atm. Blizzard has got a little bit more balancing to do and for the love of god fix the match making.

Trying to play that game as a beginner is hell as I'm always matched against people who were Hard Core. Its like stepping into Heather Chandler's Candy Store.

He has a probelm a lot of old game developers getting back into game development have, he is out of touch with how modern games look and is making his games like it is 1989 but with modern hardware. And it's not in a "retro" way where it looks nice and has charm, it just looks fucking old but without the pixelation to hide how shit it is.

Old devs like him need to work with some young people to make their games not look and play like shit. Many of them have been out of game development for nearly two decades, Yooka Laylee wasn't a disaster by comparison but even that game had issues game design wise due to the older devs making controls and shitty cameras like it is 1998.

And since it's Dino Dini, he needs to get over his fucking ego and realise he released a shit product. He needs to work with some other devs and learn from his mistakes rather than getting into an online spergout with Metokur.

Here's a hint: If a game has leveled progression outside of a match and lootboxes, it's not made for competitive play.
A good example for that is current Battlefield. It was hard enough in the old days to get 24 players ready for a clan war. Now you've got the problem that you've got to level all that shit. Everyone would need to be dedicated to something. Your tank driver got shot? Tough shit. Because for some reason, the tank behaves differently when somebody uses it that hasn't leveled it. That's like Vettel taking your car and magically your '95 Ford Escort has 300 HP and clings to the road like a racing car.

Like with all big companies that have been around for decades, the marketing and sales fucks got promoted into positions of power where they can fuck with the product. Because they make the money and nobody is interested in making a good product anymore.

So MOBA's are doing some funny things. Most notably I've caught up on League patch notes and holy shit, are their customers not happy about the constant sweeping changes they keep making.

Dota 2 looking good though.

All these relevant game modes and awesome balancing. It's night and day compared to League.

Thinking about trying Smite once in my life, never going to touch Blizzards shit again.
