It is the homeland of the Redguards. Once a province of the Tamrielic Empire until the Great War, Hammerfell became a sovereign nation in 4E 175 after its rejection of the White-Gold Concordat.

Nice. It's still Wakanda Land, and their troubled history with the empire offers plenty of room for muh colonialism and muh slavery.

Since I mostly play sneaky, loclpicking thieves/assassins they were always my choice.

Lizard guys are probably the most optimal racial choice, since they get waterbreathing and some other stuff that's nice. But they're also ugly.
