Some Metal Slug games don't even run all that well on the actual hardware so what can you expect from an emulation made by late SNK Playmore?

Could a port by dot emu or however they're written, which is a lot worse.

Though speaking of SNK Playmore, I remember their SNK ports having some terrible filters which I ended up turning off (not that I like those bilinear filters to begin with cause they usually make any game look like ass). They do shit like somehow adding black outlines around hair which wasn't actually on the sprite to begin with (making them stand out like a sore thumb), and I swear the one in KOFXI did nothing besides giving characters an aura that blurs the background around them.

The metal slug collections on psp are probably still better than the KoF games with input delay, lag, shitload of loading and generally fucked emulation.

The ps2 metal slug collection was fine aside from shitty loading everywhere.
