Went to gamescom. Sadly no booth for Concord. The one for Infinity Nikki was also perpetually full, and I didn't feel like playing the Switch version of Minstrel Song (why do we get a new version of the Remaster, anyways?), so Fatal Fury it was.

Liking the cel-shading. Should've went with that earlier went they started making their fighters 3D.
There's a "Rev Up" meter that you use for EX moves and cancels and shit, and unlike a regular meter this one goes up when you use it. If it's full you overheat and have to wait longer before you could use it.
The demo had five characters, with Marco, Rock and Terry being the old guard.
Then there's Joe Higashi's nerd disciple, which is still pretty fucking weird.
Then there was this other guy whose moves reminded me of something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then his victory animation has him put on one half of Grant's mask

Oh, and aside from Just Defend there's now also SF3-style parries

So what do those function like? Just Defend was basically already a (safer) SF3 parry. More frame advantage?

Wait, I screwed up. It's not a parry, but a way to Just Defend while already in block stance.
So you can Just Defend during your opponent's combo / multi-hit attack.
