Well, they're kinda trying to emulate the same style. But whereas OFDP2 is basically a giant QTE, YOMI Hustle is the tool-assisted speedrun of fighting games.

It's kinda dope actually once you've got the hang of it.
The only major issue is that the game doesn't quite explain itself. Even the tooltips are only mildly useful. You certainly can't expect it to actually explain what the moves do. Ya gotta read that up somewhere else of fiddle around in the sandbox.

Still sounds like playing chess by mail for a genre that usually can't even cope with 10 frames of delay.

Ya know, the fun of the arpegiator of a synth isn't putting in the notes, it's having them play back at higher speed than you could play them and then being able to modulate them in real time.

I saw footage of the new Coital Wombat's disasterous Switch port and I thought to myself "even if this game was good would I have had any more fun than if I just loaded up Tekken 3?"

No 3D entry of Portal Mombot compares to Tekken 3. Even with most 2D entries you might be better off with Tekken.

Some absolute Chad is doing fanart of Touhou characters ripping off various fighting game characters, and it is glorious.
