It was the golden age of nobodies. A different, better time.

I suppose a lot of authors could be termed as nobodies, given that celebrity as we understand it didn't really exist until about the time that Lovecraft died.

Still, one guestfag spewing edgy shit about a game certainly isn't enough for me to chance my mind, eventually I'll look more into it, but I am cautiously optimistic. Games like that are rare and I'll have plenty of time to get back to it in the future.
The first things you will do in the game are:
1.Read a warning before the title screen about racism being wrong.

2.Talking to Ape-Trump (with umbrella holding butler), who will tell you that the Innsmouthers are filthy immigrants who came to the city to steal people's jobs, when the game starts and you are still in the city's port.

3.Tracking down an Innsmouther, married with a human woman and with a human daughter, who will tell you that his people are proud and blessed by the sea, that they had no choice but to come to the city because the evil humans destroyed Innsmouth, and that you will have to get used to their presence like it or not.

Fucking Assassin Creed Odyssey was more subtle

Because that's what I'm always looking for in my cosmic horror stories about unfathomable god-beings from the void between the stars: polidicks.

"We will build a non-Euclidian wall around R'lyeh, and the Mi-Go are gonna pay for it!"

I expected everyone to shit all over Bloodstained, because what Kickstarter funded game has EVER been good? But, I'm glad to see it's at least somewhat competent.

My bullshit detector went off at 5:58, when he suggests that Bloodstained would have been a better game if it had Chasm's art style. What kind of take is this?

He at least talks about the glitches and crashes, that stuff I'm more concerned with.

Still, it looks like it's nowhere as good as Aria of Sorrow or SotN. The sound designs seems to be piss poor.

I'm still improving in Trials. I'm hopping between Evo, Fusion and Rising. I've hit a bit of a roadblock last week or so but I feel like I'm improving again. I get first try better times on tracks I haven't played for a while without even trying.

It certainly has better voice acting than SotN, that's for sure

Plus the music is sufficiently Castlevania for my nostalgia boner.

Ranges from passable to lame.
That's not what I'm talking about, though. The entire rest of the sound design is weaksauce garbage. No good enemy hit sounds, no good weapon hit sounds, basically everything that's not music or talking is really, really weak and can't even compete with a GBA game.

Sigh........I want more Metroidvania in my life, but I guess this might not be it. :/
