I went on a hunt with the GL again, wondering if I had gotten rusty.
Not a bit. It wrecks face. GenU is easily the strongest it has ever been.
I casually melted through a Basarios in minutes and had to wait for my item delivery to hunt the Ioprey in the same quest.
That poor lad barely held onto dear life longer than a Bulldrome.

To add insult to injury, my Seltas armour has the Hero Shield ability that negates weak hits. Ioprey's poison spit seems to be considered weak and does nothing but make me sparkle.

How the fuck does one fight a Gypceros with a HH? It doesn't stop flashing and for some reason I can't dodge the blind.

I just let the idiot blind me. If you wail on him while standing directly under, he usually can't do anything too smart once he stuns you. Half the time it seems like Gippie flails his legs ineffectually and knocks me down without doing damage, thus removing my stun. Just keep hitting him and he'll keep getting stunned himself. Another thing I like to do is find a hill and kite him around there so I can easily do leap attacks. I'll either get some easy mounts or land strong hits on his head.

I leap attacked the fuck four times and didn't get a mount. He did the flash attack five times in a row!
I got sick of his shit and just GL'd the guy.
He also played dead twice, which is something I have never seen before.

Oh no, the playing dead twice was when I went GL and was absolutely obliterating it.
Look, I'm trying but I can't get into the groove with the HH yet and I needed those rubber ducky parts.

Looks like there is no new Rise demo today. Or it's late. Anyway, turns out you can just delete the save data and play the first demo again.

HBG is absolutely ridiculous. The melee attack has a guard point. Detonation ammo also deals stun damage. So when I felt I was getting close to knocking the monster out and it ran I loaded up the full auto ammo and just dodged the monster for melee attacks on the head, guarding through two attacks and getting a K.O., the perfect moment to let it rip. I might just main HBG again.
